Dr. Marcela Lezama has been with Baywood since day one. Her most dedicated patients travel long distances to specifically receive treatment from her. She has established a reputation for being gentle and caring, particularly with our youngest patients. Her kind demeanor and thorough approach enables her to be recognized as a dentist of the highest standard. Dr. Lezama, away from the office, is an active volunteer through her community and church.

Dr. Ali Movassaghi, or “Dr. Mo” has gained the reputation of being one of the most laid back dentists around. But don’t let that fool you -- he’s all business when it comes to the practice of general, or cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Movassaghi graduated from the prestigious University of Southern Califronia dental school. His passion for restoring teeth to their original appearance and function. On the personal side, Dr. Mo enjoys physical fitness activities, and spending quality time with his son.

Dr. Andes Torres loves smiles more than anyone we know -- which is why it’s his job to help you create the smile you have always wanted. Whether he’s restoring coloration, or replacing a missing tooth -- Dr. Torres looks forward to the showcasing of your smile after he’s done. Dr Torres attended Indiana University, as well as Loma Linda University during his prosthodontic training.

Dr. David Powell in one word is “accomplished”. Dr. Powell received his general education and dental training from the University of Southern California. Powell followed his residency years, as a pediatric dentist, with a masters degree in education from USC. Powell followed his educational achievements by establishing his own private practice, while still teaching at the USC Children’s hospital. Dr Powell served as the director of dental training at the Children’s Hospital until his family relocated to Utah where he again combined a private practice with teaching at the Primary Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Powell is a board certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Powell focuses on several specific areas, including: Infant Dental Care, Prevention of Dental Disease, Bottle Caries, and treatment of patients with Hemophilia.

Dr. Michael Alfandari is a natural born dentist. He has stood out among his peers in practice, and bedside manner throughout his training and career. Dr. Alfandari earned his D.D.S. degree at the University of California School of Dentistry. After his education, Dr. Alfandari practiced as a general dentist until he was accepted into endodontic residency at USC. Dr. Alfandari was able to gain an extremely respectable reputation due to his skills as an endodontic specialist. Dr. Alfandari continued to stand out amongst his peers by his determination to increase his knowledge and skill of endodontic treatment, including surgical endodontics.

Dr. Glenn Roeder has accomplished a lot. So much so that we’re not sure whether to call him Dr. or Captain! Dr. Roeder earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California. After a series of interesting jobs, Dr. Roeder received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from USC, whereafter he received his Certificate in Periodontics. Dr Roeder then served in the United States Air Force reserve dental corps where he attained the rank of captain before being honorably discharged.

Dr Roeder focuses his practice on diagnosing gum disease, as well as the supporting structures of teeth. He is one of only a handful of periodontists that employ a revolutionary periodontal technique that treats disease without the cutting or sewing of gums.

Dr. Peter A. Krakowiak’s passion for smiles has led some to call him a miracle worker; although, he would be the first to tell you that his extensive training and enthusiasm are the true sources of his miracles. Dr. Krakowiak completed his specialty training at the Oral and Maxillofacial center at the USC Medical Center, where he still serves on the surgical staff. Dr. Krakowiak’s full range of maxiofacial capabilities include intraveneous and general anesthesia options.

Dr. Younes Safa has dedicated his life to the practice of dentistry. He is renowned amongst his peers for his skill and knowledge on the subjects of general dentistry and endodontics. Dr. Safa attended the University of Minnesota for his undergraduate studies and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from USC in 1990.

After practicing general dentistry and teaching, he returned to academia to complete his certification in Endodontics at USC in 1993. For the past 16 years he has dedicated his life to practicing and teaching endodontics. He has held academic positions both nationally and internationally. Dr. Safa is a proud recipient of the “American Association of Endodontics (AAE) Award”; he has also lectured extensively and published numerous research projects/articles.

Dr. Cory Hoffman is recognized by his patients for being warm and sincere -- it’s because of these qualities that Dr. Hoffman is favorite amongst children and adults alike. Dr. Hoffman received his Bachelor of Science from UCLA (Psychobiology), after which he received his residency program for Orthodontics. Dr. Hoffman provides Dr. Hoffman’s meticulous attention to detail, and his ability to communicate with children and adults alike has caused him to become a patient favorite.

Dr Hoffman is a Board Certified Orthodontist, Invisalign Certified, and a member of the American Board of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Fernando Valley Dental Society, and Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Noushin Fani has been known to comfort her patients so much that they fall asleep without the aid of anesthetics! Overstatement? Maybe, but she puts her patients comfort first and foremost. Dr. Fani completed her undergraduate studies at UC Irvine and UCLA, followed by her Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Fani continued her studies at USC and received her postgraduate certificate in Periodontics in 1993.

Dr. Fani continues to educate herself today in order to provide the highest level of patient satisfaction possible. Dr. Fani is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the San Fernando Valley Dental Association.
